Our 3-Step Wet-Sharpening Process
Ideal for most mid to high-end knife brands. Our wet-sharpening service utilizes water-cooled equipment to prevent the steel from overheating. This process is appropriate for all straight-edge kitchen knives.
This refined 3-step sharpening method consistently yields superior results:
Water-Cooled Belt: A water-cooled abrasive belt is meticulously used to establish the precise shape of the edge and bolster, as needed.
Sisal Deburring Wheel: A sisal deburring wheel is used to gently remove the burr and create a balanced, symmetrical edge.
Cotton Polishing Wheel: A cotton polishing wheel is used for the final touch, imparting a fine, mirror-like polish to the blade's edge.
Several brands, including Global, Shun, and Miyabi, along with other specialty knives, are sharpened at a different angle than traditional European-style knives. Most of these knives sharpen beautifully with our standard service.
